Gulf Giants, the crew owned by Adani Sportsline in UAE’s Worldwide League T20 (ILT20), confirmed on Wednesday that they’ve signed up West Indian batter Shimron Hetmyer of their checklist of 14 abroad gamers for the inaugural season in January 2023.
It was reported earlier that Chris Lynn was the one Australian named for the ILT20 however Cricket Australia had mentioned it had not obtained a No Objection Certificates request from him to play in UAE’s league. Lynn, who has scored 6656 runs in 241 T20s at a strike charge of 143.38, doesn’t have a BBL deal after he was let go by Brisbane Warmth.
Former Zimbabwe captain and World Cup-winning coach Andy Flower has been appointed head coach of the Giants. The crew has additionally signed up Chris Jordan, David Wiese, Ollie Pope, Qais Ahmed.
